Persephoni still has a lot to learn about being an Elite Guardian, as it seems like Eddy didn’t tell her the entire job description from the start. On the same note, I’ve hinted in past comics about the true role of an Elite — phrasing it more as a “security blanket” kind of deal — but I never fully revealed why Chelsea was not allowed to know of the Guardians’ existence. This page finally clarifies that part. As a foster child, Chelsea has had a difficult time finding people she can connect with. If she knew that Persephoni had been assigned to her, she would be suspicious of whether or not she was ever actually her friend in the first place, or if she was “just doing her job.” In keeping her in the dark, Persephoni — first as Pearl, and now as Chloe — can be seen as someone who honestly and sincerely cares about her. Whether in the form of a pet or a close friend, Chelsea needs a source of love in her life… and she needs to believe that it is real. But, of course, the problem arises that Persephoni cannot be in two places at once…

“They’re in my hair!? Eew!!” Not the sort of reaction I’d expect from Sesame. Just an observation.

    Also: nose boop, uber cute.

Also: Ses, start listening to him, so far the survivalist has been explaining, but the student’s not listening. You’re not always going to find a big steak to put on the table.

Seems like Sesame dosen’t have too many points in the survivalist skill-tree.

It’s terrible when you’ve got to make that kind of choice. You know that if you choose to be her friend, you’ll be hurting her because she’ll lose a beloved pet (I know all about that one.) and if you choose to be her pet, you’ll eventually HAVE to hurt her because you’ll have to “die” to play the role properly.

Well, that’s somewhat of a major life changing decision there. Although…now that I think about it, is it me or was Eddy an Elite Guardian to those two respective mail employees?

Jon, I was wondering, are you still planning on turning this into an animated series? Because I’ve been subscribed to your YouTube channel for a while now, and a lot of the “recent” videos are a couple years old.

      Doesn’t seem likely…

      • Actually, it is! The project slowed down for the past couple years when we all had stuff choline up in our day jobs/other areas that demanded our time, but we are getting the project moving again. We have a team of artists and writers working together on it.

Long story short, the pilot is still happening, slowly yet surely. The animated series is still our ultimate goal. 🙂

    • We absolutely are! We haven’t had new material to post to YouTube in awhile, but we’ve still made progress. It’s coming together slowly yet surely, and in the meantime I will keep the comics updated as regularly as I can. 🙂

Someone has to make a tough decision….
